As part of our continued growth, we are pleased to welcome Fin Holmes as a PhD Student at the University of Manchester.
After graduating with an MEng in Mechanical Engineering, Fin joined the SMI team at UoM to complete a PhD focusing on recycled polymers. Current methods mean high impact polypropylene can degrade during recycling, reducing the impact properties needed for automotive applications. Therefore, Fin is aiming to focus on deepening our understanding of the link between recycled feedstock and performance, applying analytical tools and altering processing conditions help to retain material properties during recycling
